Make Nine 2021

I really enjoyed taking part in the make-nine-2020 challenge and I’ve finally narrowed down my plans for 2021.

Last year felt like a more relaxed challenge than previous years because I was vague with my plans rather than deciding on exact garments. I also took pressure off myself by accepting that I probably wouldn’t finish all nine things… and that’s okay!

I almost definitely won’t finish nine garments for myself this year because I’m also knitting a cardie for Beardie and sewing curtains and cushions for our newly decorated (almost finished) living room. I’ll hoping to work on some of my new pattern ideas at some point as well!

Regardless of how many I complete - I love having a make-nine plan because it keeps me focused on what I actually need and want in my wardrobe. So my plans for 2021 are…

Although my plans are vague - I do have a few things in mind that I want to knit…

I’m planning to work through some stash this year and have already cast on the Isla fair-isle jumper using my Felted Tweed stash!

And I’ve also got my eye on a few sewing patterns…

Left to right: Zinnia Skirt by Colette, Winslow Culottes by Helen’s Closet Patterns, Amalfi Dress by Hey June Handmade.

I’m hoping to work through some of my fabric stash as well, but it’s a fairly small stash so I’ll be treating myself to some new fabric at some point. If you have any recommendations for good independent fabric shops who sell online - pop them in the comments please!

Do you have a make-nine plan for this year or are you just going with the flow?
