Eventide

I finished making my Eventide top (Ravelry link) by Inyoung Kim a couple of weeks ago… but it took me a while to sew the ends in!

I quite enjoy sewing up and sewing in ends so I chose not to sew any in as I went along. I’ve been squeezing in sewing ends whenever I’ve had free time and I was really desperate to do some actual knitting when I finished!

I’m really happy with my Eventide! I like the fit, the length and it was a great use for some of my stash yarn. I used Rowan Fine Milk Cotton (which has been discontinued for some time) and the coral stripe is Rowan Summerlite 4ply.

I’m sure the number of ends would put some of you off knitting this, but I found it so much fun to knit. I really love the construction of the scalloped section where you knit them separately for the first row then pick up along the edges. If you sewed ends in as you go it wouldn’t be too faffy.

I want to knit more summer tops but I wanted a little break from knitting with cotton so I’ve cast on the fronts of Beardie’s cardie. I was also hoping to make a skirt to go with my Eventide by the end of Me Made May… but it’s turned into quite a hectic month for me - so being realistic that probably won’t happen. For now - I quite like it with my denim skirt and it makes me feel ready for summer!
